Day 1: Arrive Cairo

Day 1: Arrive Cairo

  • Welcome to Cairo, Egypt (around the clock). Nile Holiday representative will meet, assist you throught formalities at Cairo International Airport and then transfer to your hotel. At the hotel, your tour manager will assist you with a smooth check-in and confirm pick up time for each tour & overnight

Day 2: The Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, Memphis & Saqqara

Day 2: The Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, Memphis & Saqqara

  • Breakfast at your hotel and then you will be accompanied by your personal Tour guide to visit the Pyramids of Giza, built during the 3rd and 4th dynasties of the Old Kingdom. You will get a close-up view of the Great Pyramid, built for the Pharaoh Khufu, as well as the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Whilst here, you can visit inside the great Pyramid (extra ticket on spot). Move on to enjoy a fantastic Panoramic photo view for the Pyramids, and then drive to see the great Sphinx of Giza, the legendary statue with the head of a human and the body of a lion, amazingly carved out of one huge piece of limestone
  • Move on to visit Memphis, the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, founded by King Menes “3100B.C”. Now, Memphis is an open-air museum highlighted by a giant statue of Ramses II.
  • Continue to Saqqara, a vast mortuary complex with of hundreds of tombs and the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser, built during the 27th century BC for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser by his vizier, Imhotep. Next, visit a carpet school before heading back to your hotel.

Day 3: Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Coptic Cairo and Bazaar

Day 3: Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Coptic Cairo and Bazaar

  • Breakfast at your hotel and then you will be accompanied by your private tour guide to visit the Egyptian Museum, houses the world's largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts and the treasures of the young king Tutankhamun.
    Then proceed to visit Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque in the Citadel of Salah El Din located on Mokattam hill near the center of Cairo.
  • Continue to visit Coptic Cairo, explore the famed Hanging Church, a place of Orthodox worship constructed in the 3rd century. Next, see St. Sergius and Bacchus Church (Abu Serga) and Ben Ezra Synagogue. This place has great significance as it is believed to be the spot where the Holy Family spent time during their journey in Egypt.
  • Later on, you will visit Cairo most famous Khan Al-Khalili bazaar, one of the world’s oldest marketplaces. After finished, Transfer to your hotel and overnight in Cairo

Day 4: Fly Cairo to Aswan / Aswan tours

  • After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive to the airport for your flight Cairo to Aswan. Upon your arrival, pick up to visit Aswan, an ancient frontier town. Start at the spectacular Aswan High Dam, an engineering miracle when originally constructed in the 1960s. The dam brought an end to the Nile's devastating floods.
  • Proceed to Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, is now situated on the small island of Agilika. Also on the island there are a temple of Hathor, Trajan’s Kiosk, a birth house (Mammisi) and various shrines and sanctuaries.
  • After finsihed, transfer to your hotel in Aswan and overnight

Day 5: Optional: Abu Simbel Tour / Transfer to Nile Cruise

  • Spend the morning at leisure, or join the optional tour of Abu Simbel by Vehicle or Flight.
  • The world renowned site where Ramses II (1290-1223) B.C. ordered two sun temples carved from the Limestone Mountains. The great temple of Amon Re and Ra-Harakhte, where the four famous colossal statues of Ramses II over 20 meters high, sit majestically staring out across the desert. And the small temple dedicated to the goddess Hathor and Queen Nefertari, the favorite wife of Ramses II. Abu Simble temples located 280km south of Aswan (almost 3 hours one way by Car) – 9 hours tours by Car & 6 hours by flight.
  • Noontime: Check out of your hotel and then transfer to your Nile Cruise. Enjoy Lunch onboard, Free time and overnight in Aswan

Day 6: Kom-Ombo and Edfu temple Nile Cruise excursions

Day 6: Kom-Ombo and Edfu temple Nile Cruise excursions

  • Today you will slowly sail towards Kom-ombo, located on the east bank of the Nile almost 3 hours sailing from Aswan. After Breakfast on Board, Start to visit  Kom-Ombo Temple, the unusual double temple, dedicated to both the crocodile god Sobek and Horus the falcon, the Temple was built during the Greco-Roman time between 190bc and 219ad. Explore the nearby Crocodile museum before return to your Nile Cruise and set sail to Edfu.
  • Upon arrival, enjoy horse & Carriage return way ride to visit Edfu temple considered the best preserved of all Egypt’s temples. Dedicated to Horus the falcon headed god, was built during the Greek Period in Egypt, between 237 and 57BC. You will enjoy the temple construction as well as the myths of ancient Egypt. Return to your Nile Cruise, free time on board, you will sail to Luxor via Esna, enjoy your afternoon tea on the Cruise sundeck. Overnight in Luxor

Day 7: Luxor Valley of the Kings & Hatshepsut temple

Day 7: Luxor Valley of the Kings & Hatshepsut temple

  • Breakfast on board, and then visit the magnificence of the Luxor West Bank start at the most famous valley of the Kings, the burial place of the new kingdom pharaohs ruled Egypt for almost 500 years, between 1550 to 1080 BC. You will enjoy seeing 3 well preserved tombs. whilst here, you can visit Tutankhamun and Ramses VI tomb (Extra ticket on spot)
  • Move on to the Temple of Hatshepsut, a colonnaded structure surrounded by cliffs and learn about the life of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt's famous female ruler.
  • Continue to the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Return to the ship for lunch, and free time at leisure

  • Disembarkation after breakfast and then start to explore the most impressive Karnak Temple, dating back over 3,000 years. Walk along the avenue of the Sphinxes and marvel at the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 massive sandstone columns and then free time to explre at leisure
  • Drive to visit Luxor Temple, which marked the other end of the Avenue of Sphinx, extended between Karnak and Luxor temple. The temple was built by Amenhotep III, Ramses II, while other pharaohs like Tutankhamon, Hormohep and Alexander the great added to the Temple’s construction.
  • Later on, transfer to airport for your flight Luxor to Cairo. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to your hotel in Cairo & overnight
