The therapeutic resort town on the shore of the Red Sea is a small port that is famous for being a phosphate export centre and is a widely inspired tourist destination due to its inland wonders and geographical conception.
The town was found in 282 BC and was originally called ‘Philotera’ during the Greek era. And later it became a trading post during the Islamic era.
Due to its unpolluted atmosphere, black sand-dunes and mineral springs, the resort town have been known to provide the remedy of rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.
